Those were some intense stakes! And to bet it all on the flip of a coin 😨 Great story!

Desperate times really do call for desperate measures, I suppose. 😅 Thanks so much, Claire!!

After reading so many different writing styles with The Grisly Ghost of Gruesome Time, I realize how much I like your writing style. Your stories are cohesive and your style impeccable. You are capable of writing a really good novel Anthony!

I loved this piece. It stands on its own as a short story yet has the potential to be a great fantasy chronicle. There is so much backstory waiting to be told, as well as the long story that won't be complete until the human realm is truly saved (or not?).

Looking forward to more of your stories!

Thank you so much! Since writing this, I've gotten so many inklings on things I could do with this world, but they're just thoughts. Not enough connective tissue just yet. Hopefully it'll come to me, since I'd really like to revisit this at least once!

Always nice to meet another fiction substack author. Interesting concept of how magic might need to work! Looking forward to your next work

Hi Nathan, it's great to meet you too! Thanks so much for reading!

I enjoyed this, a single pivotal moment in a larger conflict, with a cool approach to magic. The bits of context felt like just enough to know what was going on and still have a bit to imagine. Reading about the development of the story was also a nice feature.

Thanks, Will! What you describe checks off a lot of my goals for this story, so I'm really glad to hear it. And I'm happy you liked the bit I wrote about how the story developed. It's sometimes hard to tell whether anyone reads stuff like that when I include it, but at least it's fun for me to get my thoughts down.

This had some powerful, yet believable stakes. The pacing pulled me right along and I couldn’t not read it. Bravo! I enjoy your stories very much, Anthony.

Wow! Thanks for the shoutout. That means so much! Glad you’re enjoying Crocodilian despite its flaws haha. I’m working on a revised edition that I hope will be greatly improved.

Keep up the great work and I love the name “Stories From Another Realm”. Has a nice ring to it.

Thanks!! I am so glad it moved along well for you. I am the worst judge of how smooth my own writing is, so that means a lot!

From what I've read so far, you have a really great foundation for Crocodilian. I hope the revision process goes smoothly. I'm sure the end product will be more than worth it!

SFAR felt like such an appropriate name and theme, so I'm glad you feel it works! Writing and reading short fiction really does feel like I'm visiting a lot of different worlds in such little time, and my first serial will deal with multiverse travelers, so it all feels pretty on brand. :)
