The streaming one was my favorite, fake chat/social media stuff is something I usually like. While the first two didn't quite catch me (felt like I needed more to get it) all the other ones were fun. Based on my own limited experience with substack I find splitting into more specialized sections is generally a good idea, so I think it will help you with balancing things out.
Thanks Will! I think it's fun exploring a character's online persona, so I'm definitely a fan of that sort of stuff too. And yeah, even with microfiction writers I really admire, there may be a string of pieces that just don't land for me, often due to not quite enough context. Luckily it's such a small time investment that as a reader, I find it easy to move on to the next and see if that's any better for me. Sounds like that happened for you, so I'm glad!
Thanks so much, Winston! I'm so glad Of Patience and Paradoxes landed for you. I debated a lot on whether to include it or leave it in the vault to incubate for a bit and write something else. I think I made the right choice in the end. Glad you're enjoying the format!
Thanks, Michael! As you know, it's always important to poll your readers. Otherwise, you're the only person to blame for what happens next, and who wants that? 😂
I was so excited to see this email this morning! It was a lovely issue! My favorites were probably 'We Can Handle the Apocalypse... But Not the Grammar' and 'Livestreaming Has Gotten a Little Weird'. Also, I totally respect the need to take a break, relax, and restructure. Writing short fiction is so hard! But it looks like good things are coming, and I can't wait to read more!
Thank you, Claire! Honestly, I spent probably too much time expecting a fair number of unsubs from people that forgot they'd even signed up to get these, so hearing that you were excited to see this issue means so much to me. So glad you're looking forward to what's coming!
Ha, I really enjoyed 'We Can Handle the Apocalypse... But Not the Grammar'. :) And thanks for the reminder about the Story Challenge - I need to check that out properly.

This was so great, Anthony. I laughed out loud at the patience and paradoxes one. Really loving this format and what you can come up with!

Really good stuff, Anthony. Unsurprisingly I love a poll in fiction!

Thanks Simon! If someone wants to complain about us humans ruining everything we touch, the least they can do is write it well. 😅
Hope you enjoy the story challenge!
